Liverpool have confirmed that a deal is in place with French club Evian for the sale of midfielder Christian Poulsen. The French side are newly promoted in Ligue 1 and all that needs to be done is for the player to agree personal terms with the club. No transfer fee has been spoke of as of yet. Staying with Liverpool, the Merseyside outfit have signed Uruguay international Sebastian Coates from Nacional after securing his work permit earlier on today. Newcastle United have snatched up former Inter Milan left back Davide Santon for a fee of around £5 million and will be seen as a replacement for Jose Enrique who left recently for Liverpool.
